Cement

Cement is a binder, a substance used for construction that sets, hardens, and adheres to other materials to bind them together. Cement is seldom used on its own, but rather to bind sand and gravel (aggregate) together. Cement mixed with fine aggregate produces mortar for masonry, or with sand and gravel, produces concrete.

In general, White and Black building cements are divided into two types, Portland and non-Portland.

Based on the ASTM standard, Portland cement is divided into five types, which are:

Type 1- Ordinary Portland cement

Type 2- Modified Portland cement.

Type 3- Portland cement hardens quickly.

Type 4- Portland cement with low heat.

Type 5- Portland cement against sulfate.
