DOP is the commercial name for the organic compound di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate. It is the most common member of the class of phthalates which are used as plasticizers. It is the di-Ester of phthalic acid and the branched-chain 2-ethylhexanol. This colorless viscous liquid is soluble in oil, but not in water.
Application:
1) plasticizer of P.V.C
2) automotive industry
3) cable and flooring
Dioctyl phthalate (DOTP) migrates less than plastic than DOP, so the material does not stick to the surface.
The products in which DOTP is used have better performance in strength, temperature transfer, flash point, tensile strength, resistance to oscillations, electrical resistance than the materials in which DOP is used. Also, its most important characteristic compared to DOP is that it is non-toxic and carcinogenic.
Applications:
1) as a plasticizer for polymers, especially PVC.
2) This chemical is used include adhesives and electrical products, paints and coatings, plastics, flooring, toys and sports equipment.
Dioctyl Adipate (DOA) is one of the most important softeners for PVC granules.
Attributes:
1) Flexibility at low temperatures
2) Good electrical properties
3) Weather resistance
4) Heat resistance
Can be used with other plastic instruments
Applications:
1) Flexible covers
2) PVC paints
3) Movies
4) The title of dough mixtures
5) Used for shoes, slippers, synthetic leather, waterproof membranes, paints, varnishes, flooring, paper calendar hoses as well as in the production of granules.
